On July 21, according to China Press, a boss has brought 15 of his staff for dinner in Singapore. After they finished their food, they just got up and left.

According to the manager, he said that “That night, we were short staffed as there were only 4 workers.”

“It was around 7pm when they arrived and and there were 16 of them. They ordered 2 dinner sets meant for 10 person each, along with satay and some drinks. The total bill was RM3,500 ($1188.42SGD),” he said.

“When my workers saw that they were about to leave, they quickly sent their desserts to them. After they finished, they left and it wasn’t until the end of their service that they realised that the table of 16 customers did not pay.” He said.

“Unfortunately, there’s no way of contacting them as they were walk-in customers. The only thing we can do is publish this matter on the news in hopes that they will return and settle the bill,” The manager added.

On July 26, the boss finally returned to settle the outstanding bill and apologised for the mishap.

Many netizens think that he was only sorry because he got caught and here’s what some of them said:

“The boss and staff probably agreed on not paying and just act foolish. Bet they didn’t think that the CCTV would get a clear shot of them and it would be published on the news.”

“Don’t be foolish, if the owner of the restaurant didn’t publish this, the boss wouldn’t go back.”

“The boss has finally seen his staffs’ true colours, and the staffs have seen the boss’ true colours. Looks like all of them are just testing each other.”

“This boss is so confident, he thinks that his staffs would treat him to a meal.”
