Recently, the Badminton Association of Malaysia shared that they won’t be registering the country’s top singles player, Lee Zii Jia, for any tournaments under the Badminton World Federation for 2 years after he had resigned from the national team.

Now, it appears that they have come to a mutual agreement.

Lee Zii Jia himself took to his Facebook page to announce that he has gotten the blessing of BAM President Tan Sri Norza Zakaria to go professional, after he (and his family members) met with the Tan Sri to have a private chat.

He wrote, “I am pleased to have a private heart-to-heart meeting with BAM President Tan Sri Norza Zakaria, together with my parents. I am happy that we are now resolving this issue with BAM after receiving Tan Sri’s blessings to become a professional player.”

It seems like the chat may lead to more good news in the coming days, but for now, he’s thankful for all the guidance he’s received from BAM.

“My past and future achievements will always be the product of Tan Sri Norza, BAM and Malaysia. I am forever thankful that Tan Sri guided, nurtured and gave me the opportunity to serve the country that I love”

And with that, he’s getting ready for his next match!

At the moment, I will commit myself for the Asia Team Championships. I hope this conclusion unites us as Malaysians and badminton fans”,

“Please continue to support BAM and also the country’s professional players who are also nurtured by BAM because at the end of the day, we are one”, he ended his post.

He wasted no time as he has since been seen immediately beginning his training at the BAM gym:

It’s so great to see Zii Jia and BAM moving forward to better things, rather than being stuck in squabbles.

We’re rooting for you, Zii Jia and BAM!
