Eccentric Malaysian entrepreneur and influencer Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri is no stranger to controversy, with his recent Hari Raya Aidilfitri music video the perfect example of the things that he’s famous (or infamous) for.

However, one local politician has simply had enough of Aliff’s antics and has called for Malaysians to boycott all of Aliff’s products.

The politician is none other than Umno Youth Chief and Merlimau assemblyperson, Dr Akmal Saleh, the very same figure who is championing the boycott against KK Mart for the offensive ‘Allah’ socks issue.

Taking to his Facebook page, Akmal posted a video responding to Aliff’s latest Hari Raya music video and calling out the entrepreneur for allegedly repeatedly offending the sensitivity of Muslims in the country.

As of the time of writing, the post has garnered over 5,700 reactions and more than 1,100 comments.

The Umno Youth Chief claimed that Aliff has been doing the same controversial thing many times and in 2022, he was even charged in court for his music videos, with the case still ongoing today.

Akmal asserted,

“Are you planning to do this every year and then apologise? Can’t you safeguard the sensitivity of Muslims during this holy Ramadan month?”

“If you want to release songs and music videos, release them but don’t make videos that ‘hurt’ the eyes and minds of those watching.”

If we can boycott KK Mart, we can boycott Aliff Syukri too

The Merlimau ADUN then said that it was time to put a stop to Aliff’s antics and urged all Malaysians to boycott the controversial influencer, saying that after boycotting KK Mart, Malaysians could give a stern lesson to Aliff too.

He thus urged the Communications Ministry to delete and retract all videos made by Aliff. Afterwards, the Umno Youth Chief called for strict legal action against Aliff.

Lastly, Akmal called for a boycott of the entrepreneur and all of his products.

Akmal stressed,

“Enough is enough. This is not a matter of creative content or content out of the box, but this is brainless content.”
