We all know that the Agong is a friendly and down-to-earth guy, right? Yet again, he has proved that he is one of the coolest and relatable members of royalty we’ve ever had as he had a very Malaysian breakfast at a restaurant in Putrajaya.

Malaysiakini wrote that Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s had roti canai and some curry at Nasi Lemak Royale Kedah, Putrajaya.

The country’s ruler startled workers and customers when His Majesty walked into the restaurant. Eyewitnesses told that he was there with his security detail at around 10.20 today (4th September 2019).

He was also accompanied by an aide and Dr Aminuddin Hassim, who is Perbadanan Putrajaya’s president. The restaurant’s branch manager, Sharifah Afidah Syed Abdul Rahman, was quoted as saying,

“Tuanku ordered a simple menu, roti canai with all our lauk (dishes) like squid, prawns, vegetables, beef and chicken. Tuanku took kari kepala ikan (fish head curry).”

After HRH finished his meal, the Agong decided to pay for everyone’s meal. Sharifah thanked Tuanku for visiting her restaurant and paying for all of the customers’ meals. Lucky!

Besides that, His Majesty said that he will remember to bring our lovely Queen, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah to the restaurant. Nice!

Today was definitely an emotional day for everyone (in the restaurant) because seeing the Agong in a normal restaurant is very surreal and mind-blowing. A gas delivery man, Mohd Rizuan Lido, who was also at the restaurant around the same time said he was stoked to greet His Majesty. He said,

“I almost had tears in my eyes getting to meet Tuanku. By a lucky chance, I delivered gas early today. It’s the best (feeling), I’m happy to have chatted with Tuanku, asked how he was. Daulat Tuanku.”

Aww, we’re glad his day was made! ❤

While His Majesty was at the restaurant, he took the time to also speak and take photos with the customers as well as the workers there. We’re are amazed by his humility.

We hope that The Agong and his amazing Queen stay this way forever because we love a ruler who is kind as well as humble. What do you think of our Agong’s humbleness? Let us know in the comments below!
