In the Dewan Negara today, Sultan Abdullah ended the ceremony by reciting 2 pieces of poetry:

“Gunung Kinabalu sama didaki, Sungai Pahang sama direnang, Jikalau semua bersatu hati, Kerja yang susah menjadi senang.”
Busana tradisi kain bersulam, Warnanya jingga berawan larat, Cukuplah berpolitik siang dan malam, Fokuskan menjaga kepentingan rakyat.”
In shorter words, Agong urged everyone in the hall to stop the day and night politicking. Instead, they should focus on the welfare of the rakyat.

Additionally, Sultan Abdullah reminded everyone that in order to brace ourselves for the entire 2022, all parties should strengthen their strategies & defences in facing the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is because the recovery of the country’s economy has to be prioritised so that the country is not left behind.
“Help and ease the rakyat in helping them to re-build their lives safely and peacefully. For our beloved country,” Agong reminded.
According to the Dewan Rakyat calendar, today’s sitting is reserved for the royal address by Al-Sultan Abdullah which will run for 16 days until March 24.
