Victim run over by his own car after not engaging the handbrake

Hulu Selangor District Police Chief ACP Ibrahim Bin Husin said that after the driver got out of his vehicle to close the front gate, the car rolled backwards on its own and hit him.

Ibrahim added that it is believed the victim did not engage the handbrake, and the parking area slopes downward towards the gate.

As a result, the victim fell and became trapped under the vehicle, and was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head injuries.

“As a result of the accident, the driver was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head injuries and was sent to the forensic unit at Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for post-mortem,” he said.

“Any information can be directed to the Traffic Investigating Officer, Insp Nurul Anati binti Zulkifli at 03-6064 1222 or any nearby police station,” he said.
