Yesterday (19 July 2018), another suicide case was reported and it shocked the entire nation. Berita Harian reported that a lady plunged to her death from a shopping mall building in Pasir Puteh, Ipoh.

The corpse of 36-year-old Liew Kit Mooi was reportedly found by people around the area at about 3.50pm and they quickly rang up the police upon finding her body. Ipoh police chief ACP Mohd Ali Tamby said that Liew fell from the building’s fifth floor and he assured that there was no foul play because people had witnessed Liew falling down the building.

Liew, who worked as a teacher, went to the shopping mall after sending her kids for tuition classes in Pekan Lama. Ali shared that the security guard, who works there, saw her and tried to stop her from loitering around the area. However, his efforts were in vain as Liew eventually jumped to her death.

Moving further with the case, it was revealed that Liew was suffering from depression. This was confirmed by her husband who also said that she had received treatment at the hospital last week. Therefore, the poor man didn’t blame anyone for his wife’s death. Awwh, pity him!

He also believes that his wife went through a lot of stress as Liew couldn’t cope with her heavy workload when she was battling depression. As of now, Liew’s body has been brought to the Forensic Department at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) for post-mortem.

It’s really heartbreaking to hear and read news like this every time. We also send our condolences to Liew’s family during this difficult time.
