Two men survived a horrific accident after their Toyota Hilux skidded off the road and crashed into a metal road divider in Sabah.

The incident reportedly happened along Jalan Sook-Nabawan, Batu 27, earlier today (9 February) at approximately 7 AM. The pickup truck is believed to have lost control before slamming into the road divider, with the metal barrier piercing through the front of the vehicle and reaching all the way to the roof.

According to Sook Fire and Rescue Station Chief Faisal Ahmad, his team received an emergency call regarding the incident at 7:05 AM.

He said a team of firefighters and officers, along with fire engines, was immediately dispatched to the scene, Harian Metro reported.

“The accident involved a Toyota Hilux that is believed to have skidded on its own before hitting the road divider,” he stated.

Both victims sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital by members of the public before rescue teams arrived.

Firefighters later conducted inspections at the accident site to ensure there were no further hazards.

“The fire department also assisted in removing the vehicle from the guardrail using hydraulic tools before the operation ended at 7:26 AM,” Faisal added.
