As kids, many of us dreamt of becoming pilots when we grow up. Whenever the teacher asked the classroom what our ambitions were, a group of us would have answered ‘pilot’.

Well, who wouldn’t want to fly an aeroplane around, right? Though many of us worked hard to achieve our childhood passions, some of us just had a little trouble getting there.

Sit is a 19-year-old Hong Kongese who probably couldn’t fulfill his aspirations in a legal way, and so he decided to make fake pilot IDs.

This cunning teen’s ploy was going unfortunately well as he tricked many people, particularly women, into believing he was a ‘First Officer’ from Singapore Airlines, Lobak Merah reported.

First Officers are usually second-in-command and co-pilots in an aircraft, meaning he impersonated someone of a rather high rank and from a world-class airline.

Luckily, Sit’s ruse unfolded after he molested a 15-year-old girl!

Sit had met his victim in a cafe on September 10, 2017. He came up with the excuse that his phone ran out of battery and needed to return to the airport to get his charger.

The gullible girl agreed to accompany him. They took the bus and during the ride, Sit’s hand crept over and grabbed the poor girl’s breasts.

Shocked by this sudden inappropriate contact, the girl loudly scolded the fake pilot, which made him stop touching her. Then, on September 13, she made a police report regarding the molestation.

Lo and behold, when the police arrested Sit, it was discovered that he was a fake pilot. The 15-year-old victim then decided to spread the word on social media about this deceitful man.

About 50 other people recognised Sit and shared their own accounts of what happened between him and them. One lady said that Sit had lived with her and refused to move out for quite some time.

Another lady said that they went out for dinner together but he failed to pay for the bill. Another person said that he owed a lot of money and refused to repay his debts. Tsk tsk…

Apparently, Sit even joined a Whatsapp group chat dedicated to airlines, airport staff and pilots. He lured many victims through the chat.

Singapore Airlines confirmed with the press that Sit is definitely not one of their pilots or even staff.

Currently, Sit is out on bail but has to face the authorities again in October. Hopefully, he doesn’t do anything stupid again which will harm others!

Some netizens commented that this whole situation reminded them of Catch Me If You Can. It is a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio based on the true story of Frank Abagnale, the world’s greatest scammer.

Perhaps Sit got some quirky ideas after watching the movie or reading about Frank Abagnale. Whatever it is, we should all remember to abide by the law and stay out of trouble. Don’t act smart, ok.
