The incident occurred at 1am when the teen downloaded the e-hailing ride app on his phone and accidentally booked a ride at his house in Hiliran Ampang. He immediately cancelled the booking but was later contacted by the e-hailing driver who scolded him and accused the student of making a fake booking, said ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid from the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department, as reported by Harian Metro.

The student said that the suspect sent him three messages on WhatsApp to scold him and wanted to meet up that night. “The victim agreed to meet so he could pay the e-hailing fare which amounted to RM25.50 as compensation. They met at the student’s residence at around 1.10am before the student apologised and gave the driver the compensation money,” added Nik Ros Azhan.

However, the suspect continued to threaten the student and even said that he would make a police report if the student didn’t strip naked in front of him. According to a report from Sinar Harian, the victim was also forced to transfer RM200 into the driver’s account.

The driver then threatened to upload the video of the student stripping naked online if he didn’t make another transaction amounting to RM2,000 in the next two days. Fearing for his safety, the student lodged a police report at the Pudu Police Station.

“The police have identified the suspect who is from Penang and is tracking him down to assist in the investigation according to Section 384 of the Penal Code,” said Nik Ros Azhan.

Hopefully, this guy is brought to justice. Stay safe, everyone!
