While some of us may have been annoyed at teachers in school who seemed to have it out for us, we’re certain nobody would have resorted to stabbing a teacher to death just to get back at them.

A 16-year-old boy from Manado, Indonesia, was so infuriated at his teacher who scolded him for smoking on school grounds that he went back home, retrieved a knife, and came back to school just to stab his teacher to death.

According to Tribun News, the incident occurred on Monday evening (21st October) at SMK Ichthus Manado when two students were assigned to plant flowers in the school compound.

Once they completed the task, they both sat at the schoolyard and began smoking despite the fact that the school complied by a strict no-smoking policy. They were then approached by 54-year-old Alexander Valentino Weru Pangkey, a religious teacher who reprimanded the boys for smoking and ordered that one of them be sent home.

In a fit of rage, the boy decidedly returned home and took a knife before going back to school with a thirst for vengeance. A video taken by a bystander in the school compound then reveals the teacher on his motorbike getting ready to return home before he is abruptly stopped by the schoolboy.

The enraged teenager can then be seen stabbing his teacher 12 times while the shocked educator falls to the ground. Despite the stabbing, Alexander manages to muster up enough energy to stand up and call for help from surrounding students and teachers.

The suspect can be seen in the video fleeing the scene upon noticing other bystanders. The injured teacher was quickly transported to Malalayang hospital but it was unfortunately too late. His stab wounds proved to be fatal, as Alexander passed away later in the evening.

RIP, Alexander. You were just trying to be a good teacher.
