An 11-year-old boy has tragically lost his life, while his two siblings are fighting for their lives after allegedly consuming a hazardous liquid at their home in Sungai Ramal Baru, Kajang.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed that the Kajang District Police Headquarters (IPD) received a report from a medical officer at Hospital Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin (HTPN) yesterday (11 February) after the three siblings were brought to the hospital unconscious.

Malaysian siblings allegedly given methadone by their mother

In a statement, Shazeli Kahar said the police received information at around 9:10 AM regarding three local boys, aged 11, 10, and 5, who had been brought to the Emergency Department.

Initial investigations revealed that the eldest child was pronounced dead while en route to the hospital. The five-year-old is currently being treated in the ICU, while the 10-year-old is receiving treatment in the Emergency Department’s Red Zone.

Preliminary findings suggest the tragic incident occurred after the mother allegedly administered methadone to all three children, according to Sinar Harian.

Meanwhile, Berita Harian reported that the deceased’s body has been sent to the HTPN Forensic Department for a post-mortem.

Police urge anyone with information to contact the investigating officer, Insp Mohamad Razlan Arif, at 016-4730452, or the Kajang IPD operations room at 03-89258222.
