Following the disappearance and death of a little autistic boy, Zayn Rayyan, in December 2023, the lives of his family members have never been the same. Having been thrusted into the public eye, his parents were recently arrested and charged for neglect, which potentially caused physical harm to the boy. His grandparents were also arrested but later released.

What many do not realise is that that there is another family member that requires attention, not over Zayn Rayyan’s death but for his own wellbeing.

According to a report by Harian Metro, Zayn Rayyan’s younger brother, Mateen, has been asking for his parents following their arrest.

“Where’s mommy and daddy?”

His grandfather, who has been caring for the boy during his parents’ arrest, shared that he would constantly look for his parents and had become less cheerful due to their absence.

Now, Mateen is in the care of the Social Welfare Department (JKM).

Buletin TV3 revealed that the Selangor state JKM had gone to Zayn’s family home in Puncak Bestari and taken Mateen to a hospital for examinations.

The Director of JKM Selangor, Azmir Kassim, shared that there is a need for JKM to take custody the child.

“However, we took him to a hospital for examination first. After that report is completed, we will decided what kind of action will be taken,” he said.

We genuinely hope that the little boy heals from this traumatic experience.
