Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Sultan Ibrahim is urging Malaysians who refuse to accept Bahasa Malaysia (BM) as the national language within the education system to leave Malaysia and move to other countries.

His Majesty said this while speaking at the opening of the 2026 Parliament session, where His Majesty stressed that any education system that is to be introduced must be in line with the national education policy, which is based on BM.

“The national education system also needs to continue to be strengthened, as a reflection of the nation, identity and future of the country. If a new education system is to be created, it must be in line with the national education policy, and BM must be the main language because it is the national language,”

“Therefore, any proposal to recognise any other education system must accept BM and the history of Malaysia. If there are those who do not accept BM, it is better (for them) not to live in Malaysia,” His Majesty said.
