A woman in Indonesia is mourning the loss of her husband who allegedly died in a fire at a shopping mall in West Jakarta, Indonesia.

The woman was initially told by her deceased husband that he would be going to Surabaya for a work trip. Surabaya is about 780 KM away from Jakarta but little did she know, her husband did not leave Jakarta.

Apart from mourning his death, the woman also has to deal with a heartbreaking fact – there was never any work trip.

Her husband was spending time with another woman at a karaoke place in the shopping centre – Glodok Plaza, where the fire happened which took 11 lives.

In a viral TikTok post and a report by Majoriti, the woman said she was informed by one of her deceased husband’s colleagues about the death.

“3 days ago, my husband told me he was going to Surayabaya for a work trip. But I was told by his colleague that he was actually there at the karaoke place with another woman.”

As the identification process for all victims is still ongoing, there is still no confirmation if the woman lost her husband in the fire. The woman has also deactivated her social media account following the circulation of the post.

Based on a report by CNN Indonesia, the fire in Glodok plaza took place last Wednesday (January 15). 2 more corpses were found yesterday (January 22) in a week-long search since the fire started.

On previous days, 6 bodies were found in the karaoke room, and the others were located in different parts of the mall.

The fire destroyed several floors at Glodok Plaza and was only extinguished on Friday (January 17). The initial point of the fire is suspected to have come from the 7th and 8th floors of Glodok Plaza.
