Eating out nowadays is a costly affair especially when you have a big group of people.

Recently, a restaurant owner in Alor Setar, Kedah named Samz Wong shared on Facebook about how an uncle complained to him that he is charging them an exorbitant price.

“The customer came to pay after the meal and said that our food was very expensive, I told him that it totals at RM148 and it was not expensive as it fed 9 people.”

The uncle retorted by saying that it was very expensive as there were only “a few dishes.”

Taking a look at the receipt, there were 7 dishes and the most expensive one is the fish with preserved vegetables.

After looking at the receipt, the price is not expensive at all as RM148.40 divided by 9 is RM16.50!

The boss adds that he did some calculations and realised that he makes less than 30% of the profit on average, reported Sin Chew Daily.

“The price of pork, chicken, oil and imported foodstuff is increasing but we are not increasing our price as we want to keep our customers.”

“If you go to the market to buy fish, meat and vegetables to cook for 9 people, RM150 may not be enough!”

Many netizens agreed with the restaurant owner.

“Worth the price, very cheap. These types of people eat rice without knowing the price of rice. Ask him to cook himself at home.”

“This is too cheap. The prices in Northern Malaysia are cheap. If he comes to KL or Southern Malaysia, he will surely scold non-stop.”

The owner of the restaurant has also said that he did not do this to advertise his restaurant as this family business is well-known and has been running for 22 years.
