In the United States, there are multiple campaigns launched by individual states to convince their residents to get the Covid-19 vaccine with some offering a variety of attractive and unique gifts to entice everyone to get vaccinated. Among the offers are multi-million dollar lottery tickets, study scholarships, free beer, and amusement park tickets. While these offers look attractive, the state of West Virginia has even more exciting and unique offers to offer to its residents.

According to Forbes, the state of West Virginia not only offers cash prizes to its residents who take the vaccine but also offer firearms to lucky winners. The state will give away five hunting rifles and five special rifles through a lucky draw that will take place on June 20 in conjunction with Father’s Day.

There is also a series of lucky draws which will be held each week from June 20 to August 4, West Virginia residents who received at least one injection dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will be eligible to register. The lucky draw will also offer one million dollars (about RM 4.1 million) to one lucky winner – as is done in other states – along with prizes such as a full scholarship, a custom truck and a lifetime hunting and fishing license. In addition to the lucky draw, West Virginia will also reportedly offer savings bonds or gift cards worth $100 to all vaccinated people ages 16-35 in the state.

Well, maybe we need to start giving out prizes and cash to attract those who are reluctant to get themselves vaccinated. Maybe a free iPhone or some pocket money will definitely entice these anti-vaxxers to change their mind.
