In a surprising turn of events, UMNO President, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called for a political ceasefire to ensure the main agenda which is handling the Covid-19 pandemic and helping Malaysians who are suffering from the economic downfall.

They also expressed their support towards the Perikatan Nasional government and ensure to help the government face the pandemic and solve the economic crisis.

Zahid also ordered all leadership parties in the Cabinet currently to focus their full energies towards the efforts to help the people and reduce their burdens.

“Cooperation between parties in the Perikatan Nasional government should be strengthened to ensure political stability at a time when our country is in this situation.”

On 14 October, UMNO’s Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said in a statement yesterday that the party is seriously considering withdrawing their support from the Perikatan Nasional government.

If the PN government wishes to continue their political support with UMNO, new conditions will have to be accepted which will be set in a written agreement and to be accepted as soon as possible.

Another flip-flop? Will our politicians be agreeing for a political ceasefire finally? Stay tuned for updates!
