Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID/JSJ) Director’s speech recently went viral, where he warned corrupt officers to ‘change or be changed’.

The speech, which caught the nation’s attention and scored brownie points with netizens, saw Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain giving a stern warning towards officers working with criminals and allegations of officers risking the lives of their comrades by giving out false information to his contingent.

“Within this team, there are those willing to kill each other for money, probablyĀ due to the lack of supervision at the lower ranks…observing what lifestyles these people are leading,” he stated.

“How can a seargent drive an Alphard, Vellfire or Mercedes? As superiors, why are we not asking them how they can afford luxurious vehicles or declared their assets.”

He explained that some officers are performing these misconducts due to the lack of supervision.

“Some bosses buy luxury cars together with their sergeants and even choose vehicle numbers together. This is what’s happening in the force,” he added.

Furthermore, he also shared that some 130 officers will not be recommended for promotion due to these misconducts. He added that they were not qualified as they could not handle things in their current rank.
