A few months ago, Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming announced that the federal government agreed to legalise firecrackers and fireworks which drew mixed reactions from Malaysians.

With Raya fast approaching, kids have been taking to lighting up the streets with fireworks. However, this can sometimes go badly especially when there are passerbys.

Recently, a couple of TikTok videos went viral showing a bunch of children getting scolded for throwing fireworks at passerbys from their houses.

Unfortunately, this led to a passerby getting injured after the kids had apparently switched to throwing stones after they had ran out of fireworks to throw at pedestrians.

Irresponsible children

The videos have since gone viral on social media platforms where netizens took to the comments section to condemn the kids for their irresponsible actions.

“The victim is way too calm for me. If it happened to me, before the police arrived I would’ve had my way with the children.”

One user commented, “For kids like these, unless you confront them properly, then they won’t change. I hope they get detained by the police.”

Meanwhile, some users blamed the parents for not being attentive enough and for possibly trying to defend the actions of the kids.
