Viral Corn Vendor Who Used Racial Slur Against Indian Community Fined RM400, Indonesian Wife Sent to Jail

The viral corn seller who displayed a racial slur at his stall was fined RM400 by the Magistrate Court in Sepang yesterday (February 21).

His Indonesian wife was sentenced to jail for 3 months

The corn vendor, abdul

The corn vendor, Abdul, 64, was charged under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and an optional charge under Section 268.

He pleaded guilty to one of the charges. On the other hand, Abdul’s wife, 52, was charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for not having valid travel documents.

Earlier, Abdul was arrested by PDRM despite his public apology for the matter. His stall went viral after a woman recorded his stall with the displayed racial slur against the Indian community that read,

“Sorry, we don’t sell this corn to keling.”

Sepang District Deputy Police Chief, Superintendent GK Shan Gopal, advised the public to maintain relations between races and avoid any form of provocation that could touch on religious and racial sensitivities, reported Harian Metro.
