Not long ago, local actor Pekin Ibrahim revealed that his GR Yaris Kansai Edition that came all the way from Japan is now a total loss following an accident. 3 of his friends were in the car but Pekin was not and fortunately, all of his friends survived.

However, there’s a twist to this case.

Just last night (14 July), an automotive company, D One Motorsports Sdn. Bhd. shed some light about the matter via a Facebook post and revealed that Pekin Ibrahim is not the owner of the now-total-loss GR Yaris Kansai Edition. The plot thickens.

According to a statement, D One Motorsports said that Pekin is merely an ambassador for the car, effective May 2023 until a timeline that has been agreed between both parties.

“He’s an ambassador who promotes for us on social media.”

The real owner of the Yaris Kansai Edition is none other than the director of D One Motorsports herself.

“Pekin has never paid any deposit or any booking fee. He has merely shown interest in purchasing the car.”

At the end of the statement, the automotive company asserted that all costs of building the car were covered by themselves, and not the actor. They also included a screenshot of the ownership of the vehicle.

Regardless, we’re glad that everyone who is involved in the accident survived.
