We were shocked and disgusted when a group called V2K on Telegram was exposed for distributing pictures of girls without their consent and also child pornography for a certain fee. Malaysians everywhere demanded an explanation from MCMC and Telegram themselves over their lax security of allowing this to happen in the first place.

Over 20 survivors of the Telegram group came forward to All Women’s Action Society (AWAM) and they will be accompanying these women to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Headquarters in Bukit Aman to lodge a report. These women are not only the victims of the V2K Telegram group but also other similar groups who have been misusing the victims’ pictures and distributing their personal information amongst themselves.

V2K group has close to 40,000 male members, made up of university students, rich businessmen and many others.

“The V2K group alone has broken laws on criminal intimidation, sexual harassment, data privacy, the sharing of lewd content, and potentially, laws on sexual abuse of children.”

AWAM hopes that the subsequent actions taken by PDRM and MCMC will be swift and thorough as they intend to see ALL the perpetrators in these groups receive the necessary redress for their actions and to see justice being served.

More power to the survivors of the group as they’re refusing to let their perpetrators walk scot-free!
