Just about two weeks in and we are already seeing the overwhelming generosity of Malaysians from all walks of life, who have freely contributed to the Tabung Harapan Malaysia (THM) fund to assist the government in reducing the country’s RM1 trillion debt. If you thought this ‘trend’ would have died down by now, you’re wrong because the fund keeps growing prosperously. As of now, THM has already collected close to RM55 million, and this number is slowly increasing by the day!

Today (June 11), a dental clinic in Johor Bahru, Amim Dental Surgery, was witnessed by DAP leader Lim Kit Siang, to have donated RM1 million to Tabung HarapanWow!

Kit Siang posted several photos of him on his Twitter account where he can be seen posing with a mock cheque while being surrounded with what looks like over 20 staff of the dental clinic.

“Witnessing the ceremonious handover of RM 1,000,000.00 donation from Amim Dental Surgery to Tabung Harapan in Skudai today,” he said in his tweet.

“Malaysians are eagerly playing their parts in helping the country in time of need. When it comes to saving Malaysia, we are all Malaysians First!”

What a generous effort by the dental clinic!

Meanwhile, Kit Siang wrote in a blog post yesterday (June 10), that 42 of DAP MPs will contribute more than RM210,000 to THM, with each MP donating RM5,000 while others would donate more to help reduce the burden of this national crisis.

“The Tabung Harapan Malaysia has captured the imagination not only of Malaysians but of the world – a significant manifestation of patriotism and love for Malaysia by all Malaysians regardless of race, religion, region and I hope politics,” he wrote.

“This is why I ask whether UMNO/BN MPs will make any contribution to Tabung Harapan Malaysia.”

It’s nice to see how generous and selfless Malaysians are. It surely is a new Malaysia after the historic GE14!
