Teamwork makes a dream work.

If you didn’t know, this is a quote by John C Maxwell, an American author who have written many books on Leadership. Through this phrase, Maxwell tells people that a job can be successfully executed only if there’s teamwork.

And this is exactly what Malaysians are doing; we’re working hard as a team to help solve our national debt!

Serving as an example to Maxwell’s wise words, Malaysians have managed to collect a whopping RM49,190,120.04 as of 3pm yesterday (7 June 2018), according to NST. That’s nearly RM50 million, guys!

Prior to this, reports revealed that Tabung Harapan Malaysia (THM) managed to collect RM7 million in 24 hours after it was launched on 30 May 2018 by our prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir. THM was launched to protect us from scams and frauds claiming to be the official fund.

Staying true to their promise, the ministry of finance has been giving daily updates of its progress at 3pm. Do keep your eyes peeled for today’s (8 June 2018) announcement.

Not only that, keeping the rakyat’s best interest at heart, our finance minister Lim Guan Eng also informed that all contributions made to THM would be tax deductible. This tax deduction is also applicable to both individuals and companies. So keep your receipt!

If you’re wondering how they will be auditing such a large amount, Lim Guan Eng explained that the MoF will appoint an external auditor – someone who’s not from the ministry – to audit the money received by THM. He also assured that money collected via THM will be only used to pay off our country’s debt.

Malaysians are definitely setting a good example by coming together to solve a national crisis. Hopefully, this teamwork wouldn’t die down as time passes by!
