What a great initiative to encourage both getting vaccinated and reading!

A bookstore known as Buku Fixi, recently took to Twitter to share some exciting news.

“#CucukBersamaFixi Seeing as @KedaiFixi in Sunway Putra Mall is close to one of the vaccination centres (PWTC), we want to offer a free book to anyone who shows their vaccination card to us.”

You read that right! Buku Fixi is giving away books for the cost of absolutely nothing to anyone who shows their vaccination card. But this offer isn’t just limited to those of you who are getting vaccinated at PWTC. According to the tweet, fellow Selangorians who have been vaccinated in their respective locations are also eligible to claim a free book from the bookstore’s other location in Setia Alam.

All you have to do is go to the counter and show your vaccination card as proof. The offer ends on 30 June 2021 so if you’ve already been vaccinated or are planning to do so before that date, do head over to the Buku Fixi locations said in the tweet and get yourself a free book! Hopefully, the cases would have gone down by then so vaccinated Klang Valley citizens from other districts will be able to claim their free books too.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, a representative of Buku Fixi said they’re offering all kinds of books from their urban contemporary fiction section. “One book is worth up to RM20. We offer a range of genres from thriller, horror, mystery, sci-fi and much more.”

When asked why they started this initiative, Buku Fixi told WOB, “we coincidentally have a bookstore at one of the locations for vaccination centres so we simply wanted to make the vaccination programme merrier. Looking at the current situation, we think vaccination is an important effort to make sure we live in a safer environment. The more people get vaccinated, the safer the environment will be.”

Plus, with MCO 3.0 here, that leaves most of us stuck at home with nothing to do to fill our time. So why not get back into reading?

Kudos to the Buku Fixi team for their positive efforts! What do you guys think of this?
