The King Dines at Popular Hainanese Chicken Chop Eatery in Johor to Mark the Anniversary of Becoming Sultan

On January 23, Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar celebrated the anniversary of his proclamation as the Sultan of Johor.

The King visited Hua Mui Restaurant in Johor Bahru for a meal, marking his second time dining there, with his first visit dating back several years ago.

He savoured the restaurant’s signature dish!

Sultan Ibrahim ibni Sultan Iskandar celebrated the anniversary of his 2010 proclamation as the Sultan of Johor by enjoying the restaurant’s iconic Hainanese chicken chop during his visit.

A Facebook post highlighted how the King’s presence drew a lively crowd eager to catch a glimpse of him. Sultan Ibrahim also took the opportunity to interact with those who had gathered.

The caption of the post read,

“The King’s visit, along with the royal entourage, was in conjunction with the anniversary of his proclamation as the Sultan of Johor back in 2010. The atmosphere at Jalan Trus in Johor Bahru was lively as the crowd gathered to witness Sultan Ibrahim enjoying a meal of ‘Chicken Chop,’ one of the restaurant’s popular dishes.”

“A heartfelt thank you to His Majesty”

In another Facebook post, Hua Mui Restaurant shared how grateful they were for His Majesty’s support, calling it a truly special and unforgettable day.

They mentioned that his last visit was back in 2017, and it meant a lot to them that he decided to come back again.

“Tuanku enjoyed our signature Hainanese chicken chop and kopi-o ice, and it’s a privilege to have shared a piece of our tradition with him. A big thank you to His Majesty for this amazing visit and for sharing this memorable moment with us. It really inspires us to keep serving with pride and passion,” they wrote.
