Still So Many Slots?! Here’s How To Register Your Elderly Family Members For The AstraZenaca Vaccine

We all know that the AstraZeneca vaccine has been taken out of the National Immunisation Programme. To get that vaccine, one would have to register separately and voluntarily for the allocated slots.

The first round of AstraZeneca opt-in was a massive success with the slots getting filled in less than four hours. However, for the second opt-in, the numbers have been scarce as it is only open to those above the age of 60 as of now. Another contributing factor might be because they are offering 1.24 million doses rather than the 268,000 offered in the first round.

With the National Immunisation Programme going at a snail’s pace while our cases are moving sky-high, getting vaccinated is certainly a need. So if you are living with anyone above the age of 60, you should convince them to get vaccinated as quickly as possible. If they are scared because of the rarely-occurring blood clots, show them the demographic below. It is worth noting that these statistics are based in the UK.

Once you have gotten their consent, register them on this website and proceed with the steps below.

1. Fill in the blank spaces with the elderly’s information such as their IC number, birthdate, MySejahtera ID and phone number.

2. Select the date and location that is convenient for them.

3.After the captcha, you can submit the form and wait for a notification to come out.

4. Once it is out, please be patient when waiting for a confirmation on the appointment date.

It’s very simple, so please do your best to convince the elderly around you to get vaccinated as they are high-risk individuals. We have seen enough deaths already and it doesn’t seem like these statistics will be decreasing anytime soon. Do your part to protect yourself and those that are around you!
