Remember your first day of school as a kid? The mix of nerves and excitement would make us shiver as we walked through those school gates. But hey, back-to-school anxiety is totally normal, especially for Malaysians.

In a heartwarming story circulating online, SJK C Yu Hua Kajang recently shared on their Facebook page an adorable moment between two standard 1 students showing up at school on their first day of school.

“Her eyes filled with unease and tears”

In the post, two students were captured holding hands as they made their way to SJK C Yu Hua School in Kajang for their first day of school.

The caption in the post described how the school welcomed the start of the primary school year. Outside the campus, excited and anxious parents eagerly brought their children to school.

The post went on to describe a moment when a Malay girl appeared hesitant to enter through the gates. Standing by her side was her mother, offering support and encouragement to help ease the little girl’s nervousness.

It was then revealed that a Chinese student, who happened to be nearby, appeared just as nervous as the Malay student. Taking a brave step, the Chinese student reached out and held the Malay girl’s hand, and together they walked past the gates toward the assembly.

“Although there wasn’t much communication between the two, perhaps due to their uneasiness and timidity, in this new learning journey, they found warmth in each other.”

Netizens flooded the comment section, deeply moved by the heartwarming situation.
