As if things couldn’t get any worse for this victim of snatch theft, her hair also got stuck to the chain of her assailant’s motorcycle!

This incident occurred at the back of Boulevard Shopping Mall in Miri, Sarawak on Friday (20 July) night at around 3.15pm when the victim, a 31-year-old pharmacist was walking in the area.

According to the State Crime Investigation Chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Denis Leong Soon Kuai, while passing through the site, the thief, a 24-year-old who rode a motorcycle, came up from behind the victim before grabbing her bag.

Unfortunately for the victim who was robbed, her hair had even gotten stuck to the motorcycle chain when the thief tried to make his getaway.

She was reportedly dragged a few metres by her hair before the thief lost control of his motorcycle and fell!

Civilians who were at the scene of the crime immediately rushed over to beat up the man and try to help the woman who was still stuck to the motorcycle.

As seen in the video, civilians certainly meted out street justice to the man when they caught him. Police said he had been beaten up terribly before being handed over to their custody. Sarawak Voice reports that the man was from Bandar Baru Permyjaya.

The victim, who had been severely injured by her fall as well as by getting her hair stuck to the wheel of the motorcycle, was taken to the nearest hospital for further treatment.

The case is now being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code.

How scary! Not only was an innocent person attacked, but she was also badly injured and dragged on the road. Thankfully, those at the scene acted quickly and got the situation under control.
