The four men, who under the excuse of lending a helping hand, targeted and attempted to rob a senior citizen at a bank in Taman Maluri. However, their attempted robbery ended in failure due to the heroic intervention of passersby that witnessed the incident.

The female senior citizen had gone to the bank to make a cash deposit at approximately 5.30pm. The woman was placing the money into the machine when a RM50 note got rejected. A scuffle broke out between both parties and one of the suspects managed to grab all the money and make a run for it, before being followed by the other three. However, passersby who witnessed the commotion chased down the suspects and managed to apprehend all four of them. Kudos guys!

ACP Chong said that the people performed a heroic citizen arrest and contacted the authority shortly after. He also added that two of the suspects were injured when they struggled to evade arrest.
