Just recently, according to Sin Chew Daily, a Singaporean couple has decided to tie the knot and for their wedding pictures, they decided to have it taken at a columbarium!

Now, this may seem a little odd especially in Chinese traditions as it could be seem as bad luck. But to the couple, they don’t see it as bad luck. If anything, they think it’s fate as the columbarium was the first place they met.

The groom, Mr. Wong has said that it has always been his wish to go back to the columbarium where they first met to take their wedding pictures.

“Many of my relatives were quite against it, as it doesn’t seem so auspicious, but thankfully my family was very supportive,” he said.

“To us, there’s nothing bad about heading to the columbarium during our wedding day, it’s a way to inform our deceased relatives that we’re getting married and they’re forever in our hearts,” he added.

It’s interesting to see how the younger generation has a different perception towards death and traditions. What do you think of this?
