A Chinese nationality undergraduate attending the Singapore Accountancy Academy, was sentenced to 7 months prison time after he molested his female housemate.

Zhang Tao, 27 was renting a room in a condominium around eastern Singapore when the incident took place. In the wee morning of April 25, he got very aroused after hearing a tenant having sex in the next bedroom. His uncontrollable desire for “similar action” lead him to sneak into another tenant’s room where a woman was sleeping alone. He then quietly caressed her inner thigh and rubbed her private parts.

Awoken by his touches, the woman in shock, asked him why was he in her room and demanded him to leave. The woman then called her husband who quickly returned; he confronted Zhang and called the police.

The victim had originally came home with her husband at 3.20am, but he couldn’t sleep and went out to get some coffee 10 minutes later.

Zhang upon seeing the husband leave, knew that the victim would be alone, hence he took the opportunity to his advantage. He later confessed to authorities that he was aroused by the other tenant having sex in the other room.

Mr Teo Choo Kee representing Zhang in court, said that his client had studied in Singapore for 4 years. He also states that Zhang was feeling lonely, and has unfortunately succumbed to a moment of weakness; he was not in control of his actions and impulses.

Seriously? Dry until like that ahh??

Zhang could be sentenced up to 2 years in jail with a fine and caning.

The case reminded everyone to be careful when renting rooms, especially females. Have your room doors locked every time when you leave the house and when you’re about to go to bed!
