Oversleeping is very common and happens to the best of us, especially if you have a long day ahead or slept late the day before. However, have you overslept so much that you suddenly ended up in another country when you woke up?

A funny story was shared on Reddit, where a sleepy Singaporean student took a bus and slept all the way to Woodlands Checkpoint, which almost made him end up in Malaysia. It is believed that the incident was shared on Reddit by his teacher and in the end, the boy had to be sent to school by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) instead.

The incident was shared on Monday (6th January), when the Redditor recounted the hilarious incident online and thanked SPF for kindly taking care of the student. In case you didn’t know. the SBS service 170 is a route that will take its passengers to Larkin Terminal in Johor Bahru.

It will also pass by a few schools along the way in the Bukit Timah and Woodlands area so presumably, this is the route that the boy would take every day. However, the student may have been experiencing a holiday hangover when school reopened and probably forgot that if he overslept, he could very well end up in another country.

The student woke up at Woodlands Checkpoint and found long lines of people queuing up at the immigration counters. Panicking and probably still feeling sleepy, he joined the queue but didn’t have his passport with him. So what could he do?

In a moment of desperation, the boy actually took his student pass and tried to slot it into the passport scanner. Of course, this didn’t work and his card got stuck. Luckily, the police came to the aid of the hapless student, who probably felt like going home instead of to school.

The kind police offered to take the boy to school and although he may have reached school a bit late, at least he arrived in style!

That’ll definitely be a memorable story that he can tell people next time!
