Russian Artist Julia Volchkova is Returning to Malaysia to Create More Stunning Street Art!
Malaysia has always been known for championing street artists, with multiple alleys and lanes being dedicated to the creativity of these artists.
But, did you know that not all the murals you see are by local artists?
Some of the art you see around Malaysia was actually done by Russian artist, Julia Volchkova, and guess what? She’s coming back to Malaysia to make more!
Taking to her official Facebook page, she wrote,
“February 4th, 2023, Malaysia. I’m coming back! I want to create a new street art. Let’s make history again.”
Among her most famous pieces displayed around Malaysia are the ‘Goldsmith’ at Jalan Panggung (Kuala Lumpur), the ‘Loving Sisters’ in Muar (Johor) and the ‘Indian Boatman’ in Georgetown (Penang).
During Julia’s trip to Malaysia next month, she will be open for any potential mural work. Should you be interested in working with her, she shared her contact details.
“Available to create murals in Malaysia. Culture, traditions, people, history. New postmodern projects, contemporary art, fashion. Also exhibitions and performances, art business meetings,”
“Write directly to me, [email protected].”
Considering how gorgeous and iconic her artworks are, we can’t wait to see what she has in store for Malaysia this time around.
