Royal Malaysian Navy Vessel Loses Control, Hits Tourist Boat & Crashes into Langkawi Beach, Injuring 2 Officers

A Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) vessel crashed into a tourist boat in Langkawi, Kedah, earlier today after the vessel lost control during a rehearsal for the upcoming Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (LIMA 2025).

Videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media, including this post by the Melaka Daily Facebook page.

According to Sinar Harian, the TLDM vessel hit the tourist boat that was anchored near a beach before crashing into the said beach.

Langkawi District Police Chief ACP Shariman Ashari was quoted by the Malay publication as saying that the incident took place at around 4.34pm today.

There were 5 TLDM officers on the vessel when the incident took place, with 2 of them suffering injuries as a result of the crash.

The duo was later admitted to the hospital for treatment. No injuries involving members of the public were reported.

Shariman added that the police have yet to receive an official report on what had transpired, and advised the public not to speculate about the incident until the full statement by the relevant authorities has been issued.
