A Malaysian man has made a heartfelt plea for a couple to return his MyKad after they were allegedly caught using his MySARA benefits.

Malaysian activist and former teacher Mohd Fadli Salleh shared the incident, saying the man’s missing MyKad was allegedly found by the couple, who then used his MySARA benefits at a supermarket in Setiawangsa.

According to Fadli, the rider pleaded for his MyKad to be returned as soon as possible and expressed his disappointment that the couple had allegedly used RM49 from his MySARA benefits.

The rider explained that he works as a delivery rider and has three children to support, including a child with disabilities (OKU), another in school, and one studying at university.

“Please return it. Don’t you have any compassion? There’s a reason why I receive the SARA assistance. I have an OKU child, another in school, and another studying at university to support. I work as a rider,” he said.

“I can’t even work properly without my MyKad”

The rider has also given the couple the option to simply return his MyKad at the supermarket if they’re too embarrassed to bring it back to his home.

“If you’re too embarrassed to return it to my house, just leave it at the supermarket. I can’t even work properly without my MyKad,” he pleaded.

Meanwhile, Fadli also shared his thoughts on the incident, expressing hope that the authorities would take action against the couple.

“I really don’t understand how some people can be so inconsiderate and not think about the difficulties others face. They’re willing to take what belongs to someone else without feeling any guilt.

I hope the authorities catch both of them. Taking advantage of someone who’s already struggling is despicable,” the post read.
