Taking to TikTok, this teacher shared just how beautiful his retirement was after being commended by his current and former students – becoming a testament to the lasting impact educators can have on their students’ lives.

With the message, “A sad goodbye, this is me teaching Malay literature before retiring”, the teacher’s heartfelt video did not just end with students giving him a farewell hug but continued in the comments section, with former students sharing their message to their retiring teacher.

“You are still my best teacher. I was a part of your first class back in Tawau in 1991. We still love you, Mr Baljeet Singh.”

“Once, you invited me to your tuition class. I mentioned that I had no money to attend it. You told me that I should just come but keep the other details a secret from everybody else.”

“Happy retirement, sir. I am somebody now because of you.”

“I will never forget your words of wisdom. It is always hard to start, but when you start, you can’t stop.”

Aww. Happy retirement, sir! You truly are a beacon for all the students you taught throughout your years of service.
