Porsche To Open Assembly Plant In Kedah, Planning To Make M’sia Its Southeast Asian Hub
Kedah will be home to Porsche’s new assembly plant as the company is looking to make Malaysia its hub in Southeast Asia.
According to Bloomberg, the company will be partnering with Inokom Corporation, a unit of Sime Darby Berhad and this will be its first assembly plant outside of Germany.
The company’s deputy director of corporate communications explained that there is a lot of potential in Southeast Asia and the company will continue to explore options to expand in this market.
This announcement by Porsche is great news for Malaysia which has struggled to attract investors, unlike Indonesia and Thailand.
