PM Anwar Congratulates Donald Trump on Election Victory, Urges US to Help End Violence in Palestine & Ukraine

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has released a statement congratulating Donald Trump for winning the 2024 US Presidential Election.

In the statement published on his social media accounts, Anwar touted the victory as a “remarkable political comeback”  and said that the new chapter brings “renewed opportunities”.

The Prime Minister added that we are ready to move forward with optimism, collaboration and shared purposes, stressing that the United States remains Malaysia’s largest source of foreign investment and a vital player in the Asia-Pacific region.

Moreover, Anwar said that as ASEAN Chair in 2025, Malaysia hopes that America will reinvigorate its engagement with Southeast Asia.

 

The Prime Minister urges the US to help end the bloodshed in Palestine and Ukraine

Anwar also took the opportunity to urge the US to use its considerable influence to help end the violence and loss of life in Palestine and Ukraine.

The Prime Minister ends the congratulatory message by saying,

“We look forward to working closely with the incoming president to foster mutual benefits for the people of both our nations.”
