PEMULIH: Up To 40% Discount Off Electricity Bills For 3 Months Starting July

In his PEMULIH plan announcement today, Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin, said that discounts ranging from 5% to 40% will be given off electricity bills starting this July to ease the burden of the people’s monthly expenses.

The government agreed to give an electricity bill discount based on the electricity rates with a maximum limit of 900-kilowatt hours a month.

A discount of 40% will be given to those with electricity consumption below 200 kilowatt-hours per month and a 15% discount will be given to those with 201 to 300-kilowatt hours per month.

Overall, the people will be receiving a total discount of RM346 million. Muhyiddin added that this discount will be effective for a period of three months, starting July 2021.
