The decision to end your life has nothing to do with your strength or weakness, and when life hits you hard, sometimes it’s easier said than done to avoid going spiral emotionally.

A viral video shared by Malaysia Most Viral on X, which has since been deleted shows a patient in a hospital building jumping from the 6th floor and became unconscious immediately upon landing on the ground. The victim was only 22. The crowd who witnessed it could also be heard screaming.

According to a police statement by South Johor’s Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the incident took place in Hospital Sultan Ismail in JB yesterday evening (November 6) around 5:20 pm. The victim suffered severe injuries on the head and body, which led to the death.

Victim is a person with disabilities who suffered from mental illness

Raub also said early investigations have shown that the victim is a person with disabilities who suffered from mental illnesses. The patient was admitted to the hospital at 12:30 a.m. on November 5 for surgery – right knee multi-ligament injury with vascular injury (Bypass done).

The surgery, however, was canceled because the victim had the flu, and the victim was allowed to be discharged.

Police said the victim fell from the 6th floor of the hospital and as of today (November 7), PDRM is still investigating the matter. So far, the police have not found any criminal elements in the matter.

The public who witnessed the scene is asked to come forward to provide relevant information and assist the police.

Life is already as tough as it is, and for some people, it feels like an era of mental illness without a safe haven for mental illness. If you’re at the verge of giving up, always reach out to your trusted people and seek help. You can also contact BeFrienders at 03-7627 2929.
