Changing or customising your car to look like an authentic police vehicle, with the use of stickers, paint or accessories like lights and sirens, is wrong and could land you in jail.

But that did not stop this person from blaring police-like lights when speeding on the highway in his X50.

Here is a video of the incident.

In the video, this impostor can be seen flashing his vehicle’s strobe light, causing other vehicles to change lanes and give way before realising that it was not an official police vehicle after all.

The video, which has garnered more than 60k views saw netizens expressing their dissatisfaction and urging authorities to take action.

“I can’t believe that there are those out there who are selfish enough to do this for their own benefit.”

“Let’s take down the vehicle’s registration number and let the authorities pay his home a visit.”

The police have warned the public about illegal usage of strobe lights, whereby vehicles committing the offence can be charged under Rule 138 of the Road Traffic Rule 170/59 for modifying vehicles without the approval of the road transport department.
