PDRM Arrests 5 Policemen for Allegedly Abducting Man in Desa Petaling

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has detained six individuals, 5 of whom are policemen, including officers on suspicion of being involved in the abduction of a man in Desa Petaling on Tuesday (26 September).

As reported by BERNAMA, Cheras district police chief ACP Zam Halim Jamaluddin said that the police received a report from the 26-year-old victim at 5.48pm the same day.

He further revealed that the suspects are aged between 27 and 42 and were held at the Cheras police headquarters on Wednesday (27 September).

According to the report from the victim, he claimed that he was abducted by a group of men at an eatery in Desa Petaling at 3.45am.

Personnel from the Cheras police criminal investigations department then acted on the information and detained the 5 officers and the other suspect.

Arrested

Detailed investigations are currently being conducted to identify the motive of the incident with all of the suspects remanded for a day before being released on police bail.

Accordingly, PDRM has opened an investigation paper on the case under Sections 365, 342 and 323 of the Penal Code for kidnapping, wrongful confinement and voluntarily causing hurt respectively.
