A man has since turned himself in

In a recent update, the mystery has been solved after a 48-year-old man turned himself in at the Ipoh Traffic Police Office yesterday (7 October).

According to Sinar Harian, Ipoh District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the man came forward to assist with the investigation.

He explained that the accident, which happened around 2:55 AM last Sunday (5 October), occurred when the man lost control of his van while turning into a junction.

“The van swerved out of control and hit six parked cars. Thankfully, no one was injured,” he said.

He tested negative for drug use

Abang Zainal said a urine test on the man showed he was not under the influence of any drugs.

“The police appreciate the public’s cooperation in providing information that helped us track down the driver,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and dangerous driving.
