French-Malaysian cuisine? ?

Don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it sounds! Combining two flavourful cuisines that are both rich in taste and history, you’ll definitely be crowned the new Head Chef at home after trying French-Malaysian cuisine!

These dishes we’re about to share with you are brought to you by two renowned chefs here in Malaysia, French chef Nathalie Arbefeuille and Malaysian Chef, Isadora Chai who are both masters of the culinary arts. Chef Nathalie spearheads Nathalie Gourmet Studio which is a cooking school, event space and catering service provider all-in-one. Chef Isadora, on the other hand, owns a modern French restaurant called Bistro à Table here in Petaling Jaya. Together, they join forces and show you how you can create five simple yet mouth-watering French-Malaysian fusion dishes at home!

 

Wow! What kind of French-Malaysian fusion dishes did the chefs prepare? 

Get ready to drool over these dishes! Here’s what you can expect from Chef Nathalie and Chef Isadora:

ENTREE / HORS D’OEUVRES

Scallop Vinaigrette Kerabu – Seared scallop on a bed of mango Kerabu and 1664 Blanc beer vinaigrette bihun, garnished with baby coriander cress and edible flowers

Modernised Béchamel Thosai – A revised savoury Thosai galette made with Indian atta flour and 1664 Blanc, filled with turkey ham béchamel and topped with spiced coconut chutney.

Egg Paneer Beurre Blanc – Poached eggs and spinach spiced using Garam Masala and chilli, with a twist of classic beurre blanc sauce with 1664 Blanc-infused curry leaves and shallots.

MAIN COURSE

Kai Fan Pilaf Á La Biére – Beer roasted chicken and baked rice pilaf infused with 1664 Blanc, complemented with a generous lashing of chilli and Asian green sauce.

Jambu Batu French Toast – Brioche French toast in 1664 Blanc caramel sauce, topped with caramelised guava, sesame tuiles, and 1664 Blanc Gula Melaka ice cream

What’s the collaboration about and where can I find the recipe? 

The collaboration between Chef Nathalie and Chef Isadora was done in conjunction with 1664 Blanc‘s Bon Appetit-lah campaign which is all part of 1664 Blanc’s objective to continue bringing unique gastronomic experiences to Malaysians at home during this lockdown!
