This Pink October, the NIVEA Moments of CARE campaign returns for its second year with a bigger commitment, once again in partnership with Watsons. For every RM20 spent on NIVEA products at Watsons, RM1 will be contributed to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA), with a fundraising target of RM50,000. To inspire even greater impact, NIVEA has pledged to contribute an additional RM20,000 once the campaign reaches its fundraising target, further extending support towards BCWA’s vital awareness, education, and support services.

“After the success of last year’s campaign, we are raising the bar with a bigger target because breast cancer awareness and early detection remain vital. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that breast cancer is still the most common cancer among women worldwide, with cases projected to rise in the coming years. At NIVEA, CARE is at the heart of everything we do and through this campaign, we are committed to supporting women by driving greater awareness and encouraging regular screenings for early detection,” said Dr. Christopher Vierhaus, Country Manager of Beiersdorf Malaysia & Singapore.

“We are proud to be the partner for this noble effort. All our outlets nationwide are running the NIVEA Moments of CARE campaign so that more Malaysians can easily contribute and shop with purpose. By doing this together with NIVEA and Malaysians everywhere, we can strengthen awareness of early detection and make a meaningful difference for women and families impacted by breast cancer,” said Caryn Loh, Managing Director of Watsons Malaysia and COO of Health & Beauty Asia.

Adding a deeply personal note to the campaign, veteran singer Salamiah Hassan shared her journey as a breast cancer survivor. “I first noticed a lump but thought it was nothing serious, just an infection that would go away. I ignored it until it grew larger, and I began to feel other symptoms. That was when I decided to see a doctor, and it turned out to be cancer. Hearing the diagnosis was overwhelming, but I chose to stay positive and keep fighting. My advice is simple: if your body shows any signs, do not dismiss them. Go for a check-up immediately. Early detection can make all the difference.”

Her story is one that many women in Malaysia can relate to, noticing something unusual but brushing it aside, hoping it will go away. The reality is that breast cancer accounts for 32.1 percent of all female cancer cases in Malaysia and more than half of diagnoses are still made at late stages, underscoring the importance of early detection and speaking up.

Beyond fundraising, this year’s programme also featured an exclusive workshop titled ‘Exercise in Cancer Care’ conducted by doctor, alongside free breast cancer screenings. The event also saw a special appearance by Malaysian singer and actress Elyana Emrizal, who took a long hiatus from her career to battle cancer and returned to the stage with a heartfelt performance, a symbol of resilience that echoed the campaign’s message of strength and solidarity.

Through NIVEA’s Moments of CARE, Malaysians are invited to shop with purpose this October. For every purchase of RM20 or more on NIVEA products at Watsons, RM1 will be contributed to the BCWA. Each purchase becomes more than just skincare, it is an act of care that helps fund outreach, awareness, and support for women impacted by breast cancer.
