Here is a life tweak you can do to help avoid pesky maggots from eating away at your rubbish while awaiting the local garbage management company to come by and pick it up.
Taking to TikTok, @sisterpledgecleans shared her life hack to help avoid flies and maggots from attacking your garbage bins.
“Here’s a great hack to stop flies from infesting your bins.”
After cleaning your bins thoroughly, “Sprinkle a generous amount of table salt in the bottom of clean bins.”
Covering the bottom of her bins with salt, she explained that salt helps absorb fluids and kills maggots that feeds on them.
“The salt soaks up any leaked fluids. Flies and maggots die when they feed on it.”
In the comments section, a fellow netizen shared that to avoid your bins from smelling, use baking soda and the smell will simply go away.
