A man took to social media expressing his disappointment that he was denied entry into a mosque, for not taking his booster shot.

The incident, which took place at a mosque in Hulu Langat, Selangor, witnessed the man recording the aftermath of the incident, having earlier denied entry by a RELA officer on hand to examine everyone’s digital vaccination certificate.

Here is a video of the incident.

Clearly perturbed, the man then questioned the officer as to why people who are not boosted, denied entry into the mosque.

According to a RELA officer, the decision was made by Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS).

In the 39-second video, a few people were denied entry.

“There is a circular stating that if you do not have your booster shot, you are denied entry to the mosque for Friday prayers.”

“Just look at how many are denied entry.”

Netizens commenting on the video expressed their dissatisfaction at the new rule in place, stating that the same precaution is not exercised in other public locations like shopping malls.

“Why are these provisions not imposed at shopping malls. Shopping malls are filled to the brim, but otherwise can be said when it comes to mosques.”

Let’s hope that the relevant ministries will come to a consensus and solve this matter immediately.
