National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre Predicts Flash Floods to Hit 6 States in 24 Hours

Flash floods may hit Johor, Pahang, Perak, Selangor, Terengganu and Sabah within 24 hours if there is heavy rain or a significant thunderstorm.

The warning was issued by the The National Flood Forecasting and Warning Center (PRABN) in the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) through a notice shared at 7 this morning.

The areas involved are as follows:

  1. Johor: Kota Tinggi, Muar and Mersing
  2. Pahang: Kuantan, Maran and Pekan
  3. Perak: Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak
  4. Selangor: Klang
  5. Terengganu: Marang and Kuala Terengganu
  6. Sabah: Tuaran

The preparedness notice was issued to enable all residents, especially in risk areas, to be alert to the possibility of flash floods during the aforementioned period.
